I am so glad that Maverick is doing so well. I had to put down my black lab at 4 1/2 years young. I tried the BMT with Dr. Suter, however his blood count was 72% saturated with the cancer. Dr. Suter & his staff are absolutly wonderful people whom I would trust my life with. Go get'em Maverick

You need to come on back to North Carolina because Maverick is going to be just fine. We all love him here and pray for all of you every day. Please keep updating the website as much as you can so that we can keep up with the progress of this beautiful, brave dog!!

My friend told me about this story on the NCSU homepage and I had to check it out. I'm at NC State majoring in Animal Science right now and I want to go to the CVM at NCSU one day. I found this story very touching, it even brought tears to my eyes. I'm praying for Maverick, the family, all the doctors involved in this history making procedure. Best of luck to everyone!!

You and your baby are in our thoughts :)! We have a 7 year old weimaraner, Mara, who is the love of our life and we know how special these dogs are and how we would do anything for her. We love the photos, they look just like our girl. Please let us know if you need any help with anything, we are located here in Raleigh, NC. I also went to NCSU and still work there; you brought your boy to the right place;)! We look forward to watching Maverick get healthy and make history, thanks for sharing your story.

Dr. Ed Sullivan told me to visit your blog. I personally had a bone marrow transplant at Fred Hutchinson Cancer research center in Seattle on October 05,1995. Fast forward 13 years, My Beloved boxer who we named after the hospital that saved my life now needs one for T-cell Lymphoma. Hutch (we call him Hutchie) has been fighting to go into remission since last May. He is an amazing dog and just won't give up, he wants to live! He has had every chemo Michigan state Univ. can throw at him and we are praying he will go into remission. We will be heading out to Seattle for Hutch's transplant. Ed Sullivan is a excellent resource and consultant since he did the first private practice transplant years ago on a dog named comit, with assistance from Fred Hutchinson. Ed is a wonderful guy and helps with his knowledge and positive out look of hope. Without question, we need more awareness to bone marrow transplants for companion animals and hopefully one day cure this terrible disease of cancer GOOD LUCK MAVERICK!!!

Good Luck Maverick, if any dog has the ability to do well with this treatment Weimaraners can. I lost my Weim to Lymphoma in 2007, if this had been an option to help her we definitely would be doing exactly what you are doing. God Bless you for doing whatever you have to so Maverick can have a great life. You are all in my thoughts and I hope this is successful, this could be such a major breakthrough in cancer treatment.

Howie and Marna, We can't even begin to say what we feel about Maverick going through this. It was such a shock when we got the news this morning, but he has the best care possible, and has the love that will heal him. Lauren is so crazy about him, that she says her little "cousin" has to get better soon so they can go back to the park and play when she gets there, and she won't even shoot off fireworks again (even though his daddy taught her how), so that he has to go hide. You guys will be in our constant prayers. Love you!

I read Maverick's story on the WRAL website. I can't imagine going through a BMT with my dog, but I'd do anything for her. The folks at State are wonderful. I'll pass his story on to my best friend- a vet and TX A&M grad. Good luck and keep us posted!
